Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor

 

My four year old cousin Piia wanted me to go with her to give Grams some flowers. She had collected a bunch of flowers just for her. One by one she took each flower out of my hands and placed them on the casket. Then she told me &#8220;I just want to sit here with Grandma, can you sit here with me?&#8221; And so I did. I sat there with her on the ground beside the casket as long as she wanted me to as she asked me questions about Grandma and wanted me to explain why she was in there. She kept saying, &#8220;It&#8217;s just so sad that she&#8217;s dead now. I really wanted to give her a hug when she was still alive.&#8221; I told her that Grandma is watching over us and she remembers and loves all the hugs she got from us in the past. I know I helped her understand, but she helped me get through today too. ♥ Amazing how the simple thoughts of a four year old can make you feel.
